The Darwinex Index (INDX)
The Darwinex Index (INDX) is a portfolio of DARWINS professionally managed by Darwinex Labs that invests in top DARWINs from Darwinex and Darwinex Zero, offering broad diversification, cost efficiency and risk-managed exposure from €10,000.
What is the DARWIN INDX?
The DARWIN INDX is a DARWIN managed by the Darwinex Labs team, the result of years of research during which hundreds of thousands of strategies have been analysed.
It is constructed through dynamic investment in a selection of DARWINs from both the Darwinex and Darwinex Zero universes. Thanks to its innovative structure, Darwinex pays each DARWIN provider 15% of their returns individually, without transferring that cost to INDX investors. This results in significant cost advantages and allows Darwinex to select an unlimited number of DARWINs for the portfolio, enhancing its capacity and sophistication.
With a track record dating back to June 2020, this product is based on real investments made by our team and is optimized to achieve a target risk level of 6.5% monthly VaR, in line with the rest of the DARWINs.
What fee does Darwinex charge for the DARWIN INDX?
Investors will be charged a 20% performance fee on a quarterly basis and a 1.2% management fee, in accordance with the fee structure applied to any other DARWIN.
How can I purchase the DARWIN INDX?
This DARWIN is unique in that it is quoted only once per day. Buy and sell orders are executed at market close (17:00 New York time). Investors can submit their order at any time, but it will be executed at the opening price of the following day. Additionally, investors have the option to cancel their order up to 1 hour before the market closes; after that period, the transaction will be executed irreversibly. Once a purchase request is made, the amount will be held until the transaction is completed. To purchase the DARWIN, you must create a dedicated portfolio in which only the DARWIN INDX is traded.
Is there a minimum investment?
Yes, the minimum investment is EUR 10,000, and the use of leverage is not permitted. Furthermore, if the results of the suitability test indicate that you cannot assume the associated risk, the option to purchase will not be enabled.
Can I invest more if I am already invested in INDX?
Yes, if you have already invested in INDX, subsequent purchases will be a minimum of €500, and if you want to sell, you must sell a minimum of €200, always leaving at least €10,000 unless you sell everything.
Is there a maximum allowed investment?
Yes, the maximum investment will be €100,000 per investor, with no leverage available. If you’d like to invest a larger amount, please contact us at info@darwinex.com
In addition, there is a total investment cap. Once this threshold is reached, the DARWIN will be closed to new investments. If we see an increase in investment capacity or resources become available, we will raise the limit. The maximum available capacity will be displayed at all times.
Will I be able to see which DARWINs the index is invested in?
No, the exact composition of the index will not be accessible to investors. However, DARWIN Providers will be able to see that the INDX is investing in their products, just like any other investor.
You can access the INDX profile here and make the purchase from the "Trade" button in the top right corner of the interface.

Can I automate my contributions to DARWIN INDX?
Yes, you can set up your account so that, when a deposit is received, Darwinex automatically moves the money to your INDX portfolio and creates the corresponding purchase order.
How to activate it:
-
From the Funds section under "Automation after deposit", selecting your INDX portfolio.

-
Or from the Add Funds section, activating the option in advance before depositing funds.

You must select the Darwinexindex investment account as the destination account.
Requirements and details:
-
Once activated, each deposit received will be automatically moved to your INDX investment account.
-
A purchase order in INDX will also be generated according to the amount received.
-
Minimum purchase requirements apply: €10,000 for the first investment and €200 for subsequent purchases.
-
For bank transfers starting from 200€ using this feature, no transfer fees will be applied on our side.
If you want to automate recurring investments in INDX, you will need to complement this process with a recurring transfer from your bank.
Margin calculation in INDX portfolios
For regulatory reasons, there is a limit to the maximum exposure in INDX portfolio to protect retail investors from a certain level of losses, and ultimately from losing more than the capital deposited (although this would already be guaranteed by Darwinex, as there is an automatic stop-out or sell order at 90% loss by default).
This exposure is determined based on the underlying assets in which the INDX is invested (the different DARWINs) have open trades, based on the margin percentage required for each asset (this value can be found for each asset in this table).
As an example, if a DARWIN opens a trade that involves the investor in that DARWIN opening an exposure of €10,000 in EURUSD, the margin retained would be €333.33, as the margin retained for EURUSD is 3.33% of the nominal amount opened.
The margin % is calculated as the ratio of the portfolio's equity to the summed consumed margin of all open underlyings.
In other words, if the equity of the portfolio is €1,000 and all open trades add up to €500 retained, the margin % will be 1,000/500 = 200%.
The current margin can be viewed at the top of the investment account:
